A Tortured Soul

A tortured soul,
Bleeding and crying,
Screaming and screaming,
But no one hears.
Small and useless,
Unloved and unwanted.
But that’s just inside.
Outside is a smile.
Loving, caring,
Always happy.
No one see
What’s inside.
Would anyone care
If they did?
Would they help
And make it better
Or just make the
Pain so much worse.
Maybe the smile
Hides the torture,
To keep it hidden.
Does the smile want
To help the tortured,
Or is it ashamed?
A tortured soul,
Hidden in a cage,
Small in the dark.

~DarkAngel~: Michigan, United States; It probably sounds kind of cocky to call myself DarkAngel. But I do it because people know me to be very happy, bright, always smiling. But that's not always me. Sometimes, I'm darker. I'm upset and just hiding it.

Why I Started This

People often tell me how nice and sweet I am. The kids at my school have said they love my smile. But no one ever sees my pain. No one knows what I hide. I will admit it though, I hide it well. No one guesses what's inside. Why should they? None of them are my friends, not really. They don't need to see what's inside, they take me, just as what they see on my surface. They don't need to see beneath, to scratch the surface of my shield.

Many of the things I post, are poems. I write them myself. Some of them are really good, some of them not so good. I know that. I write them as I feel them. Also, I am not always in a bad mood. Not always so low. I have good days and bad days, like anyone else.

A small, small cage
In a dark, dark pit

A smile a day,
keeps suspicions away.
